So, now you know the truth about the site's name. Well, sort of. Many of you are probably wondering what the heck made me decide to use call my website Niveria and even to use it in my e-mail address.
The truth is that Niveria is the name of a fictional country on another planet. Before you call the nice men in white suits, I'll try to explain by saying that Niveria and the rest of the planet, Aeva, are constructs that I made as part of an ongoing fiction project. The idea includes a set of five novels to start, as well as a complete roleplaying game set in this world of what I call Science-Fantasy.
Sci-Fan is a combination of all the elements I've always loved about science fiction and fantasy settings. Hopefully you'll find something you like...once I actually put something of entertainment value up here, that is. When I do, the site will require you to register before you view the material. You won't have to pay anything, of course, but I'll be asking all visitors to register in order to make sure they understand that all of the material I'll display is my own creative work and subject to ethics, if not specific copyright laws at the moment.
In the meantime, take a look at the map I've created of the continent of Niveria (country and continent have the same name, kind of like Australia in the real world). The map is still a work in progress but was created using two programs from Profantasy software, Fractal Terrains and Campaign Cartographer 2. If, based on what they can do, the products interest you, pay a visit to the Profantasy site at www.profantasy.com.
